Pakistan and India used to be the same country less than 65 years ago. It was so vast in size and area that it was referred to as the “sub-continent”. This enormous piece of land included Pakistan, India, Bangladesh Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, and offshore Sri Lanka.

Pakistan is geographically not very large, being about twice the size of California, but this relatively medium-sized country is home to 170 million people with over 60 languages spoken. The official language of Pakistan is English, and the national language is Urdu. Urdu is a common language that is spoken by everybody in Pakistan and India.

Pakistan is a very multi-ethnic country, consisting of many different races spread out across the land

Pakistan has a semi-industrialized economy. A big chunk of it lies in agriculture and the export of crops, cotton being the main one, as much of Pakistan’s masses outside the cities are farmers.

Lately though, Pakistan’s primary industry has changed from agriculture to the service sector which includes investments in telecommunications, real estate and energy.
